Full Time Paralegal - Atlanta, GA

Rapidly growing law firm located in the Atlanta Area is looking for a FT Paralegal to join their Law Enforcement and Safety team. This is a great atmosphere office that is respectful, and business casual. There is also a commitment to work/life balance and reasonable work hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Correspond with client, staff and other professionals via phone, email and letters

  • Track important case deadlines

  • Assist in collecting case information such as employment, internal affairs investigations and other records

  • Schedule depositions and court reporters

  • Generate correspondence to numerous agencies and POST on a regular basis

  • Open client files

  • Update client lists and client files

  • Meet with attorney weekly to track progress and next steps on cases

  • Coordinate meetings for clients, GBI, IA and attorneys

  • Electronically file cases using Odyssey and Peachcourt; occasionally E-file in Federal Court

  • Occasional travel to courthouse to obtain necessary documentation for cases

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience as a paralegal in an Administrative Law or Criminal Defense role

  • Bachelors Degree strongly preferred - Paralegal certificate not required

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Dropbox, and E-filings

  • Knowledge of criminal procedures, criminal documents and court filings, and client file management

  • Proficient in the use of the internet and search engines to locate information

  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofing

  • Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency, and ability to work proactively
